Themed Wedding Photography

When we think of traditional weddings, we typically think of flowing white dresses with lace, white wedding decorations carefully laid out on the tables, wedding centerpieces, and romantic love songs chosen for the first couples’ dance. However, while many couples choose a traditional wedding, another option that soon-to-be new couples may not realize is an option - putting on a themed wedding.

New Wedding Trends

The newest wedding trend, like many other life event trends nowadays, is to choose an event that is outside of the box or to create an event that is a bit unexpected. This is where themed weddings come into play!

Choosing Your Wedding Theme

While there are many themes you can have for your wedding, no one theme is right or wrong. The theme you choose for your wedding can be as unique, crazy, or as fun as you and your significant other chooses. What’s right for one wedding may not fit another couple’s wishes, so choose a theme that you and your partner are excited to host and share with your family and friends during your big day!

You’ll want to pick a theme that reflects your personality and lifestyle. For example, if you both like to travel, you may want to pick a tropical theme or a world traveler. A rainforest theme may be a good choice if you both enjoy nature. Maybe you are both into backcountry hiking or camping. If so, you could consider a mountain town theme or camping-themed outdoorsy type of wedding.

A few ideas that I’ve seen couples choose for their weddings are pirate-themed, fairy-themed weddings, Viking weddings, Steampunk, Halloween themes, and Mermaid themes. Any and every theme idea you come up with for your wedding that you both are passionate about is an option for your wedding!

Choosing Your Bridal Dress for Your Themed Wedding

Brides are now beginning to choose dresses which tell a little bit more about their personality and share about themselves, such as choosing another color besides white for their dress. Choosing another more vibrant color for your wedding is trending on dresses. Have you ever seen a dress with a tye dye bottom or multiple colors? You can make your dress stand out as much or as little as you want for your themed wedding. For example, some ladies wear black wedding dresses for Halloween-themed weddings.

In addition, if you like a traditional wedding dress but want to go with a fun and funky theme, you can mix it up too! You don’t have to have a themed dress. Plan to wear what suits you best, and make your wedding day an extension of your personality and passion!
